Office parties can be great sources of information and revelations around coworkers. But the levels of imbibing in all kinds of alcoholic beverages sometimes stop those newly found relationships from taking root – since nobody can build anything on a nonexisting memory. In this story, only Joseph has forgotten the details though, and Carter seems intent on reminding him. The result is an unexpected New Year’s celebration with fireworks both outside and between two men who have been attracted [...]

Awkward flirting is really cute. I love when one character completely loses his cool around another because the attraction is just so delicious. I was a little confuzzled about what happened that made Joseph avoid Carter like he was on fire, but once I figured out what transpired at the office Christmas party, I got it. Before that it was a little off putting, you know, when a story is short, the backstory has to be crystal clear. BUT, once the real flirting started, I was loving it. The resolut [...]

Picked this up randomly since I'm struggling a bit with The Winner's Curse. It was okay, and rather short. I wished it was longer, but eh.

Reviewed on The Blogger Girls. When Joseph got wasted at the company holiday party, he made a move on his coworker and crush, Carter, that he doesn’t remember at all. Now at Carter’s New Year’s Eve party, he’s doing his best to avoid Carter until he get locked in the bathroom with Carter. Now what’s he supposed to do when he’s not sure what to say and it’s obvious Carter wants to talk about it.This was a super cute story! I loved that Joseph was so awkward around Carter and didn’t [...]

“He latched onto Carter’s lips with no finesse at all. It wasn’t the wine he’d had earlier, and it wasn’t the nerves. It was the need to feel the other man’s lips on his own and have an irrevocable memory of kissing Carter Jensen.”4 fireworks!!! This book was explosively hot and super cute!! I loved the story and the characters!Carter and Joseph hooked up at their office Christmas party, but unfortunately for Joseph doesn’t remember what happened. It’s now New Years and Joseph [...]

3.5 Heart Review by AlexanderI thought that this short story hit the mark, with cool, put-together Carter, and normally “with it” Joseph, the game of cat and mouse, and the undeniable attraction. I thought that this little story was perfect in almost every way, except for the bathroom door that wouldn’t open, and that in an apartment full of people, no one would hear a distress call.Setting aside the off-putting locked-in-a-bathroom premise, Carter and Joseph made for a fun, engaging coupl [...]

In lieu of writing reviews – I’m taking an extended break – I decided to leave this list showing the reasons for the stars I’ve given to the stories I’ve read. 5 Stars – Given to stories that had me falling in love with the characters, had me so engaged in the plot I couldn’t put the book down and stories that either made me cry buckets and/or laugh until I cried. 4 Stars– Given to stories that I REALLY enjoyed reading but had me wishing for just a bit more. 3 Stars – Given to [...]

drunken kiss at office Christmas party yields an awkward New Year's Eve party crush The two big story ideas were very interesting, but were difficult to flush out fully in a short. The main foucus, hiding at a New Year's Eve part due to embarrassment at past klutzy and/or drunken behavior, was carried out well. The second device - New Year's resolutions to help shape a new relationship (preventing miscommunication and adding heat) - was nifty but seemed a little quickly tacked on to the very beg [...]

Review can be read at It's About The BookSexy and sweet little short about a guy who kissed his crush at an office Christmas party thanks to too much liquid courage. This is kind of their meet cute story and I enjoyed it enough I’d read more if it’s ever written. This one focuses more on New Years if you’re spacing out these stories for the holiday season. The tension and chemistry between the MCs was really good considering how short this book was. There was also hope for more to come bec [...]

3 StarsI normally love office romances and the awkward start to relationships, but this story missed it for me. It was too rushed and I felt like I didn't get a chance to connect to either character at all. I didn't really care for all of the telling in the story. We were told of all these things that had transpired between the characters at other times and it just didn't draw me in the way I would've liked. However, I felt like the times when it was the two men in real time, it was much better. [...]

3.5 StarsI loved the office romance type deal and love awkward flirting. I loved the story line because it wasn’t your typical office romance. Joseph was great and I loved Carter and the author was able to take this holiday romance and build it into a really great story. This was another cute holiday story from Dreamspinner’s Advent Calendar. I received a free copy of this book to read for Inked Rainbow Reads in exchange for an honest review.

Joseph has a huge crush on his coworker, Carter. Everytime he walks in the room Joseph stumbles, spills, or makes some mistake or another. When he finally gets drunk enough to just tell Carter how he feels, things turn out way different than he expects. Only he's so embarassed he wont give Carter the chance to tell him this. Cute story, I loved their resolutions.

The perils of eggnog! Joseph can't remember the Christmas party and the inane comments he must have spouted at his crush Carter. Fast forward to New Years and they are locked in the bathroom. Joseph only turns into the klutzy jibbering wreck with Carter.Liked the resolutions.Cute short story, well put together.
